The Central and Eastern European ARM Regional Meeting in Kiev, Ukraine, turned out to be very successfull. The meeting gathered 23 participants from different parts of Europe. More than 90 per cent of moulders operating in the Ukrainian rotomoulding industry were participating in this event. During the first day of the meeting we have welcomed a representative from the Ukrainian magazine: Upakovka Magazine.
The meeting took place on the 1st and 2nd of October 2008 in Hotel Riviera on Podol, situated in the center of Kiev. The Hotel's staff was very helpful with organizing the event and we would like to thank them for their proffessional help.
We would also like to thank our general sponsor, UltraPolymers (Europe), for offering support with organizing this event. Their time and money made this meeting more attractive. We would like to thank all our presenters, with special thanks to John Steele (ICO Polymers) who had run the seminars during the whole first day of the meeting. Special thanks also to Shomin Sergey for his local support and a great contribution to the success of this meeting.
Presentations which took place during the first day of the meeting were customized to to the needs of participants and adapted to suggestions from the public. Themes discussed during that day concerned impact tests, quality of different materials, pigments and current colouring methods. During the second day of the conference participants could hear commercial presentations from companies operating in the industry.
The Kiev Meeting was the first CEE ARM Regional Meeting organized in Ukraine. It created a unique opportunity of networking and learning for the moulders and suppliers. After receiving positive feedback from the meeting participants, CEE ARM is now planning to organize the regional meeting in Moscow, in the middle of 2009.
